About

James Vernon is a multi-skilled film maker/editor and photographer with nearly 30 years’ experience based in North London, UK.

He specialises in podcasts and short fast turnaround projects both in the corporate and NGO sectors and has much experience in the developing world. He prides himself in maximising the opportunity from each project, producing videos and photographic content with a timeless shelf life which can be leveraged for many years, giving high quality and value for a small time and £ investment.

He works best as part of a small team on location, with a clear brief, working with people with a social conscience, who, like him, want to make a difference. He has worked on locations as diverse Mali (Timbuktu!), The Ivory Coast, Yemen, Tajikistan, Burkina Faso and Benin.

James spent his 20s in the French alps, his early passion of skiing evolved into a job as a professional freeskier, ski journalist and cameraman. A fluent French speaker and fast learner, he is adept at learning new technology to give additional value to his clients, e.g. he was part of a team that created an App featured by the Sunday Times and YouTube channel with 52,000,000 views and 200K subscribers. Resilient and unfazed by working in challenging environments, he has broken his back, and waded knee deep in mosquito filled paddy fields in Madagascar and happily showered in the dark in the company of cockroaches.

James is a keen cyclist, loves the outdoors, and his fine art foundation at St Martins in London, still fuels his boundless creativity and enthusiasm. End clients have included UN agencies, the Aga Khan Development Network, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Sony Ericsson and MTV VMAs.
